Terms and conditions
Version of 18 October 2026
1. Scope and contracting party
These terms apply to the purchase of tickets for AI Week Düsseldorf from 23 to 27 November 2026 at STARTPLATZ Düsseldorf, Speditionstraße 15a, 40221 Düsseldorf, Germany. AI Week is a themed week by STARTPLATZ in cooperation with ECODYNAMICS GmbH as co-organiser.
Your contracting party is exclusively STARTPLATZ Düsseldorf GmbH, Speditionstraße 15a, 40221 Düsseldorf (further details in the legal notice). Deviating terms of the buyer do not apply.
2. Order and conclusion of contract
The presentation of tickets on this website is not a binding offer. By clicking “Place order with obligation to pay” you submit a binding order. The contract is concluded when we confirm your order by email.
The buyer does not have to attend. Personal tickets (day pass, personal week pass, evening ticket) are issued at purchase to a named person with an email address. If you provide other people’s details, please make sure you are entitled to do so and that they are informed about the privacy notice.
Each order may contain at most five tickets per ticket type and day. For larger groups we offer the company pass, or contact us at ai-week@startplatz.de.
3. Services
- Day pass: attendance at the afternoon programme of the booked day (core time 2 pm to 5 pm), including that day’s evening programme where there is one. Friday has no evening programme. Wednesday evening (AI Tinkerers) is free and requires its own registration.
- Personal week pass: attendance at all five afternoons and the evening programmes of the week by the same person. Use by different people on different days is excluded.
- Company pass: attendance at all five afternoons including the respective evening programme for up to three people per day and pass. Attendees may change daily. You add the names per day through your order link, each by 6 pm the day before. Places not filled lapse for that day. The company pass includes no partner or sponsorship services.
- Evening ticket: attendance at the evening programme of the booked evening (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday), starting at 6 pm.
The evenings are independent events. We ask holders of day, week and company passes in advance whether they will attend in the evening; their answer helps our planning. A ticket entitles only the person named on it. For safety reasons, access to individual rooms may be limited once their permitted capacity is reached.
4. Practice sessions
For practice sessions with limited places, you reserve a place after purchase through your personal ticket link, at no extra cost. Sessions open for reservation gradually. A pass does not guarantee a place in every practice session. Reservations of the same person must not overlap in time. You can release a reservation yourself; the place then becomes available to others.
5. Prices
Prices for the day pass, personal week pass and company pass are net prices plus statutory German VAT, currently 19 percent. Prices for evening tickets are final prices including VAT. The price of the sales phase at the time of your order applies. For businesses with a valid VAT identification number in another EU member state, the reverse charge procedure may apply; the calculation shown before you submit the order is decisive.
One discount code can be redeemed per order. The lower of the sales phase price and the code price applies. Codes may be limited in time, quantity and to certain ticket types. Codes or price changes are not applied retrospectively to existing orders. We do not grant volume discounts.
6. Payment
Immediate payment: you pay directly on this website through our payment provider Stripe, for example by card or SEPA Direct Debit. You receive the tickets by email once payment is confirmed, or immediately after granting the mandate for SEPA Direct Debit. If a direct debit is not honoured or a payment is charged back, for example a card payment, we suspend the order’s tickets until the outstanding amount has been paid; you receive a payment link by email. Once the payment is received, the tickets are valid again.
Invoice: payment by invoice is open to all buyers. You receive the tickets by email immediately. The invoice is payable without deduction to the bank account stated on the invoice. It is due 14 days after purchase, at the latest on Friday, 20 November 2026, or 3 days after purchase for later orders. The due date is shown on the invoice and on your order page.
Automatic cancellation of unpaid invoices: you can pay the invoice up to and including the 7th day after the due date. If no payment is received by the end of that day, the order is cancelled automatically during the following night; we remind you by email beforehand. The invoice then lapses, all tickets of the order become invalid, and reserved places, including practice sessions, are released. If this 7th day falls on or after the start of the event on 23 November 2026, we do not cancel; the tickets remain valid and the invoice amount remains payable.
Places from a started but unpaid immediate payment are held for you for 30 minutes.
7. Tickets and entry
Each attendee receives their ticket with a QR code by email and a personal ticket link. Please show the QR code at the entrance, on your phone or printed. Entry from 1:15 pm. Please keep tickets and access links confidential.
8. No refunds, free transfer
We do not offer voluntary refunds of purchased tickets. Instead, you can transfer a personal ticket free of charge to a substitute:
- an unused day pass until the start of the booked day,
- an unused evening ticket until the start of the booked evening,
- a personal week pass only as a whole and before the week begins.
You start the transfer through your order link. To confirm, we send a short-lived code to the email address used for the order. After the transfer, the previous ticket is invalid and the substitute receives a new ticket. Reserved practice sessions pass to the substitute unless they overlap with the substitute’s existing reservations. A transfer is also possible while a direct debit has not yet been collected; the suspension rules in section 6 then also apply to the new ticket. You change the daily attendees of a company pass as described in section 3.
This does not limit your statutory rights in the event of cancellation or defects.
9. No right of withdrawal
There is no right of withdrawal for AI Week tickets. Under Section 312g(2) No. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB), the statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to contracts for services related to leisure activities if the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. AI Week takes place on fixed dates from 23 to 27 November 2026. An order is therefore binding once submitted; free transfer under section 8 remains possible.
10. Programme, changes and cancellation
We continue to develop the programme until the event. Changes to speakers, contributions, times and rooms are possible as long as the overall character of the booked day is preserved. Contributions are held in German or English.
If we have to cancel the event or a booked day, we refund the price paid for the affected services. Further claims are governed by section 13 and the statutory provisions.
11. Photo and video recordings
During the event, we and people commissioned by us take photos and videos for documentation and reporting, in which attendees may be recognisable. If you do not want to be shown recognisably, please speak to the team on site. Details are in the privacy notice.
12. House rules
The house rules of STARTPLATZ Düsseldorf apply. Please follow the instructions of our team. Anyone who seriously disrupts the event, harasses other attendees or violates the house rules may be excluded from further participation.
13. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation, our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded. These rules also apply to our employees and agents.
For items brought along and cloakroom items, we are liable only under the rules above. Speakers are responsible for the content of their contributions; we give no warranty for its accuracy or usefulness in an individual case.
14. Data protection
How we process personal data when you buy tickets and during the event is explained in the privacy notice.
15. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of mandatory protection under the law of their country of habitual residence. If the buyer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Düsseldorf.
Consumer dispute resolution: STARTPLATZ Düsseldorf GmbH does not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board and is not obliged to do so.
These terms are available in German and English. In case of discrepancies, the German version prevails. Should any provision be invalid, the remainder of the contract remains valid.
